The school was founded as Christ Classical Christian School in 1994 by a group of homeschooling parents from Elkton, Maryland, taking inspiration from Douglas Wilson's book, ''Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning''. In its first year, 23 students were enrolled. It relocated to Newark in 1995, to Hockessin in 1997, adopting its current name, and again to Newark in 2006. At the beginning of the 2010 academic year, the school moved to its current location, formerly occupied by New Castle Christian Academy. Enrollment is approximately 205 students, with approximately 45 faculty and staff. The class of 2011 was offered a total of more than $650,000 in scholarships, with graduates planning to attend Belhaven University, Delaware Technical and Community College, Grove City College, The King's College, Rutgers University, and the University of Delaware.
